Why Can’t we Overcome Evil in our own Strength?
We are watching many elected people in D.C., our states and our local communities constantly violating their oath of office. They show little to no remorse and lie when confronted with these indiscretions. They are rarely challenged by the press or those elected people who say they are committed to rule of law. We hear reassurances here and there about articles of impeachment for Joe Biden coming soon. Nothing has materialized as of yet. Unlike the former President, these are not trumped up charges but documented violations of our law and Constitution. The list is pretty long at this point. Citizens can at this point:
Write consistently to elected legislators about specific violations of either the federal Constitution or their state Constitution.
March in large numbers on Washington D.C. to bring attention to the crumbling rule of law by those elected to protect it. We need to spell out all violations of the Constitution.
Close the southern border.
Most importantly, pray and fast and call for a National Day of Prayer on a monthly basis and fasting. Sadly, we cannot really look to any “religious leaders” to do this. We need to raise this awareness and talk about it constantly among ourselves. The details of this fast/pray monthly event needs to contain the following:
Agree with God on His definition of sin. I encourage you to read Romans chapter 1 in the Bible. Agreement with God on sin and being sorry for it… we then turn to the sacrificial lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. His blood that he shed on the cross alone satisfies God’s anger against sin. He is our sacrifice; He took our sins on Him! See 1 Peter 2:24
Reader, take the time to research the effects of the Great Awakening and its effect on America. Inner heart change resulted in outward change eventually. The American Revolution was one of the fruits of this event. A long and difficult war it was. Impossible odds against the greatest military power of the day would be an accurate description of Great Britian. Faith in God, determination to fight and pay the cost for freedom carried us to victory. I encourage you to read Ephesians 6. Verse 13 tells us that after putting on God’s armor, without that we cannot defeat the real existence of evil from Lucifer, the fallen angel and other fallen angels who followed Lucifer in sinning against God. They are greater than we humans but only through the power of God can we overcome. We stand in His power resisting and praying and when done…we are still standing!!
Do not underestimate the power of prayer and fasting!
But it was the grungy, unremarkable city of Leipzig that became the epicenter for popular opposition. From 1980 the Church of St. Nicholas, with only a small congregation of worshippers, began to host Monday night “Prayers for Peace” meetings. Under Pastor Christian Führer, these meetings, which would begin with people reciting the beatitudes from Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount — “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God” and so on — soon became a regular meeting where believers were joined by anyone…Fifteen days later, 300,000 people turned out on the streets of Leipzig. It became the inspiration for the escalated popular opposition around the country that put so much pressure on the East German regime. These were vital ingredients in what eventually bringing down the wall. Leipzig earned the nickname the “hero city.” (Citation: abc.net)
Various founders of our country starting with Gov. William Bradford, first Governor of Massachusetts, reminded people of their day and future Americans as their words have been preserved for us.
Know virtue, know peace…no virtue, no peace.
